A Bit About Me
Dr David Mullan is an academic, lawyer and businessman with over 18 years’ experience in professional services. His expertise spans corporate, finance, legal and management sectors in Australia, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. He has lived and worked in some of the world’s most dangerous places, having completed projects in Iraq, Afghanistan, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Somalia, Democratic Republic of Congo and East Timor. David has completed projects for several of the world’s largest companies and governments, including The Coca Cola Company, The Catholic Church, Halliburton, Monsanto, Iraqi Oil, Crescent Petroleum, BP, Royal Dutch Shell, Petronas Sdn Bhd, Westpac Banking Corporation, Bin Laden Group, Kuwait National Bank, Vatican Bank, US government, Kenyan government, Iraqi government and US Department of Defence.

In his academic works, David is the recipient of numerous scholarships and awards, and author of numerous books and articles. ‘ASIC Directions: Past, Future and Present’ was described by Professor Frank Carrigan as ‘the single most important investigation of regulatory history in Australia’. David is a frequent keynote speaker at the Friedman Conference and recipient of ‘most notable paper’ recognition at both the Australasian Legal Academic Association Conference and Australasian Property Law Association Conference. He has appeared on numerous podcasts, interviews and international television programs (including Shanghai Business Network and Bloomberg Asia) as a professional commentator on economic matters. He has also published numerous papers in international journals and has lectured at Macquarie University, Charles Sturt University, University of Technology Sydney, Sydney University and as an invited guest of Fudan University, Tsinghua University and Central China Normal University.
